The people
Germans have been influenced to be very serious people because of Hitler who started WW II and because of the Berlin wall. Even though they are very serious people they still have a great sense of humor. They have strict rules and don't like wasting time. Germans hardly ever jay-walk. Germans don't like it when people don't go the right direction in the supermarket or get in the bus by the wrong door. Germans also stare a lot. They're not trying to be rude it's just a habit of theirs.
Germans are in love with hardware stores like Ikea because they love doing things themselves. If they had to renovate their house they wouldn’t get anyone to help them. Germans are also good at everything they do and if they are not then they will practice and perfect it. Germans have a big winter wardrobe because it is usually rains. Germans will still wear boots even if it is warm and sunny and if they see other people wearing thongs they will simply think that person has lost their mind. Germans get extremely happy when the sun comes out. Germans can eat and drink a lot! For breakfast Germans will always try to fill the table by having 4 types of cheese 5 different types of meat and a basket of bread rolls. Germans have a very sweet tooth but also love meat. |
German FoodLots of German food has been influenced from France, Italy and Poland. Germans traditional food is a lot more heavy like sausages, cheese, stews and thick soups. There are loads of Bakery's scattered around Germany. The first Hamburger ever made was created in Germany in a city called Hamburg. they did this by getting a beef patty and putting it in between two bread rolls. Germany also created the first hot dog. This hot dog was created in Frankfurt the sausage they used is called a kransky (in German: Kranjska klobasa)

AmplemannThe Amplemann (in German: Ampelmännchen) was the loved symbol in Eastern Germany, it is one of the few things left after Communism. When the Berlin Wall came down, the Amplemann became extra special to the East Germans and became a popular souvenir item for tourists. The Germans now even make different designs like: Amplemann Women; Amplemann with Bicycle; Amplemann Hugging; Amplemann with Umbrella and a few others.
